I play the flute and occasionally other instruments at various folk sessions in Oxford. Since August 2017 I have taken over the admin side of the Galician session, which Mano Panforreteiro had started and run very successfully for around five years. As my musical education has been patchy (most of my current skills are byproducts of bringing up my daughters to play flute and cello, respectively) leading a session is a huge pair of shoes to grow into, but we’re still having great fun and that’s the main thing.

As I had this WordPress account sitting around gathering cobwebs, I now use it to deposit materials relating to the Galician session, essentially providing the same content that I post in the facebook group.

While I run the blog and facebook group in English for broad accessibility, I also speak Spanish and have learned some Galician, and some of the content I share may use one or the other.

In real life, I am a chemist turned biochemist turned science writer. To find out more, please visit www.michaelgross.co.uk
